Alumni

As alumni of one of the smallest and most selective faculties in the University, law students would have had many opportunities to interact with fellow students and faculty members during their four years in law school. One of the notable features of studying law in the Faculty is the many academic, social and sporting activities which go on throughout the year. Many alumni will doubtless remember their law school days - be these at the old Bukit Timah campus or the present Kent Ridge campus - with fondness and pride. Many of the activities which are still organised today are those that were started by enthusiastic law students over the years and which have since become law school traditions, from events such as the annual Law Ball, Law Camp, the Christmas Charity and the Graduating Class (Law IV) Concert to the Singapore Law Review, the Jessup International Mooting Competition and the Mooting and Debating Club.

Class of 1961

Our alumni occupy the ranks of government, private practice, diplomacy, business, the arts and media communities as well as almost every other niche of professional life in Singapore. Many of our alumni have also achieved prominence overseas. In particular, due to Singapore's historical connection with Malaysia, many members of the Malaysian legal fraternity are graduates of our law school. Some of our distinguished alumni include:

Alumni relations were brought to the forefront recently with the launch of LawLink, the Faculty's alumni outreach magazine. Class reunions are a regular feature of the law school calendar. In addition, the Alumni Seminar Series brings illustrious alumni back to the Kent Ridge campus to speak to our students on their work and interests. Our alumni have provided sterling support for the law school over the years in the forms of endowment gifts, sponsorship of student activities and participation in conferences and seminars. As the Faculty positions itself in the competitive global economy, alumni gifts have become a critical force which enables us to bolster our resources and fulfill our aspirations as a world-class law school.
