Vice Chancellor’s Message

Dear Colleagues

I am pleased to open the call for papers for the 10th ASLI Conference, which will be held at the National Law School of India University, Bangalore. The theme for the conference is "Celebrating Diversity – Ten Years of ASLI".

The theme has been decided upon in order to commemorate ASLI's first decade. In this decade, ASLI has successfully brought together the diverse legal cultures and experiences of the Asia-Pacific region. Lawyers, academics, students and others have participated in and contributed to the discussions and debates, providing food for thought, teaching and research. We hope to capture this diversity as we celebrate the success of ASLI.

Learning about the diversity of the region should enable us to appreciate the relative nature of truth while learning to respect one another's legal cultures. Diversity leads to richness of experience and offers ways to solve the human problems which confront us all. We hope that this theme for the 10th ASLI conference will provide opportunities for reflection, thought and participation.

We look forward to welcoming you to the National Law School of India University, Bangalore in May 2013.

Yours truly,

Prof. (Dr.) Venkata Rao
Vice-Chancellor
National Law School of India University
