Fellows Programme

Every year, Founding Member and other Member Institutions are invited to send
one faculty member to ASLI as a Visiting Fellow for one month between mid-
September to end November or February to end April. These periods correspond to
the NUS academic semesters.

While at NUS, the ASLI Fellows are expected to conduct collaborative research on
legal issues of interest to their respective countries or to Asia in general. Each
Fellow is expected to present a seminar paper and contribute to the Working Paper
Series at ASLI during his or her fellowship. In addition, some Fellows may
occasionally be invited as guest lecturers to teach in courses offered at the NUS Law
School.

Together, the ASLI Fellows also prepare papers for presentation at the annual ASLI
conference to be hosted by Founding Member Institutions on a rotating basis in
April or May the following calendar year. Members of ASLI also do their best to
facilitate student and faculty exchanges among themselves.

Prospective ASLI Fellows from Founding Member Institutions have to be nominated by their respective Deans while Fellowships for Member Institutions are offered on a
competitive basis.
