About the Speakers

Shem Khoo
Managing Director, Focus Law Asia LLC

Shem is the Managing Director of the firm. He has close to two decades of international arbitration and litigation experience and was previously a partner in one of Singapore’s largest firms. He has represented both Singapore and international clients in numerous high-value disputes spanning a wide range of industries, including oil and gas, energy, marine, insurance, commodities trading, biotechnology, banking and finance, mining and natural resources.

 

Mimi Ahn
Associate Director, Focus Law Asia LLC

Mimi is a Korean national and was called to the bar in April 2015, making her one of just a handful of Koreans who is fully qualified to practice Singapore law. Mimi’s practice focuses on International Commercial Arbitration and Litigation. She has represented clients in international arbitration under various institutional rules (including SIAC, ICC and LCIA), seated in major arbitration venues, such as New York and Singapore. Mimi also regularly appears in Singapore High Court for various civil and commercial matters.
