Learn about recent statistics affecting the legal industry in Singapore and our panellists’ experience pursuing a career in an ever evolving legal industry, as well as views and tips on what that could mean for you.

About the Speakers

Justin Tan
Partner (Corporate)
Mayer Brown PK Wong & Nair Pte. Ltd.

Justin’s practice comprises corporate/private equity, projects and sanctions work across the Asia Pacific and South Asian jurisdictions, with a focus on the energy and natural resources, chemicals, infrastructure, shipping, logistics/e-commerce and life sciences/healthcare sectors.

He has over 20 years’ experience carrying out complex cross border M&A across Asia Pacific, as well as leading multi-jurisdictional corporate restructuring exercises.

 

Matt Shaw
Counsel (Arbitration)

Matt has more than 15 years of experience of international commercial arbitrations in Asia and across the world. He focuses on cross-border disputes arising in a range of sectors including technology, financial services, energy and construction, and has notable experience in disputes involving intellectual property, private equity funds and major national infrastructure projects.  He has acted for clients in arbitrations in many of the world’s key arbitral seats including London, Paris, Zurich, New York, Washington, D.C., Singapore and Hong Kong.

 

Jacinda Wong

Jacinda’s practice areas encompass mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, corporate restructurings and corporate advisory work. She has broad transaction experience across industries and jurisdictions, and her clients span local and foreign individuals, private and public companies and multinational corporations. She has held appointments as company secretary of both public listed and private companies and has more than a decade of experience in private practice.

 

Bryan Tan

Bryan has extensive experience in corporate and commercial litigation (both in the General Division of the High Court and the Singapore International Commercial Court), international arbitration, restructuring & insolvency and employment-related disputes. His practice also includes tech-related disputes involving blockchain, cryptocurrency and computer technology.

 

Hannah Heng
Senior Associate (Employment)
PK Wong & Nair LLC

Hannah’s experience in employment law matters includes regularly advising on employee share option schemes, Central Provident Fund matters, conducting internal employment audits, and advising on manpower workstream matters for large transfers of employees pursuant to corporate restructuring. She also routinely advises on immigration matters relating to employees and liaises with relevant regulatory bodies on behalf of clients.

 

Bjorn Tan

Bjorn was called to the Bar before becoming a Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Attorney-General’s Chambers. He has experience in prosecuting a wide spectrum of offences. Currently, he specialises in corporate and commercial transactions with a focus on merger and acquisition work.
