INTRODUCTION TO COMPETITION LAW

This short course is designed to give participants a concise introduction to Singapore's competition law framework. Participants will be given an overview of the three main statutory prohibitions against anti-competitive conduct (anti-competitive agreements, abuse of dominance and mergers which substantially lessen competition) found in the Competition Act 2004. The course will pay attention to the core underlying legal and economic principles behind the competition law system, with references made to the caselaw from the infringement decisions and guidelines of the Competition Commission of Singapore (CCS), as well as the appellate decisions of the Competition Appeals Board (CAB).
