ABSTRACT

This talk explores the possibility of understanding important segments of evidence law as ethical rules regulating the fact-finder's formulation of beliefs relating to the disputed facts of the case. It considers the potential of this understanding in casting light on a humane interpretation of the trial.


ABOUT THE SPEAKER


Ho Hock Lai is an Associate Professor of the Law Faculty, NUS. He is interested in the law and theory of evidence and proof, and works in a cluster of areas that includes theories of the trial, epistemology of legal fact-finding and ethical bases of evidential rules.
