CFM/Breadth Notice for Law
Students
3rd & 4th Year students may enroll for CFMs for enrichment
purposes. This means that they can take the course but it does not count
towards fulfilling the requirements for the LL.B (Hons), nor is it relevant
to the classification of honours.
-
It is your responsibility to ensure that
there is no clash in your examination and class timetables between the CFM
and your Law/Non-Law courses at the Faculty.
-
Where clashes occur, the Faculty of Law will
not entertain requests to change tutorial groups, subject combinations,
exam schedules, etc to accommodate CFM schedules. Your priority, and that
of the Faculty of Law, is on your fulfillment of the requirements for the
LLB (Hons). Similarly, your undertaking CFMs will not be a relevant
consideration for your performance, or lack thereof, in the examinations
for your LLB (Hons).
-
If you register for a CFM, you are expected
to attend lectures and tutorials. Examination grades will be reflected in
the transcripts. Some CFMs will allow you to opt for pass/fail. That
choice is entirely yours.
-
You will be subjected to the add/drop rules
for the registration of CFMs, ie. Dropping a CFM after the "drop without
penalty period" will result in a "W" or "F" grade (depending on the time
frame) on your transcript.
-
The Faculty will consider the administration
relating to CFMs as outside its jurisdiction. As such, it will not
intercede on matters related to CFMs. Students wishing to take CFMs will
have to deal with the Registrar's Office and the respective faculties
themselves.
