Bank Documentation Last Updated Date: 19 May 2009 4 Credits, Semester 2 Course Description: The object of this course is to familiarize students with the methods used for, and the problems arising in, the drafting of standard and dovetailed bank documents and opinions. It is proposed to study a number of standard term contracts, used in current banking practice, and to examine the object of clauses contained therein and the issues arising in drafting them. The "Standard Terms and Conditions" used for the opening of accounts, standard forms used in international trade and in respect of Foreign Exchange, Margin Trading and certain security documents, such as guarantees, are amongst those to be covered. Standby Credits, Performance Bonds and Loan and Risk Participation Agreements are amongst the dovetailed, lesss standardised types of agreements, to be perused.
