International Police Enforcement Cooperation Last Updated Date: 26 Aug 09 4 Credits, Semester 1 Course Description: In the 21st century international or inter-country cooperation in criminal matters has become more indispensable component of effective law enforcement than ever. The purpose of this course is to provide students with a canvas of legal, policy, and practical issues involved in key selected topics in the area. These topics include the following: (1) issuing international criminal notices and populating international databases, (2) checking and acting upon the information contained in the notices and data bases, (3) gathering evidence, (4) conducting criminal analysis & intelligence, (5) coordinating investigations and operations, (6) executing arrests and extraditions, and (7) providing testimony and others for trail.
