VACATION INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME

Dates:

The upcoming vacation period for 2007 is: 

Sun 09 Dec 2007 - Sun 13 Jan 2008 (5 weeks)

Procedure:

Information on internship opportunities at your company will be made available on our
website from the end of September 2007 and students will have to apply by 9 November 2007.
 

The next vacation period for 2008 is:

 

Sun 11 May - Sun 3 Aug 2008 (12 weeks)

 

Procedure:
 

Information on internship opportunities at your company will be made available on our website at the end of January or early February 2008 and students will have to apply by March 2008

Requirements:

  • Your company may wish to set appropriate criteria to meet your needs e.g. all applicants must have done IP law, banking law etc.



  • Please note that in the 1st and 2nd year of study, there is a compulsory curriculum for all Undergraduates. In their 3rd and 4th years of study, students are able to choose from a wide variety of electives.



  • You may wish to open applications to all students or only those in their upper years and/or students from the general or specialised LLM programmes.

Allowance:

Companies usually provide an allowance ranging from about $600 to $1000 per month. The amount of the allowance is at your company's discretion.


We require the following information from your company:

  1. Name of Company

  2. Company profile (including relevant website address)

  3. Requirements (if your company wants interns to be from particular years of study or have specific knowledge of particular areas of law)

  4. Expectations (what the intern is expected to do during the internship)

  5. Number of internship places available

  6. Period of internship (duration of the internship e.g. 3 weeks or 3 months)

  7. Amount of allowance

  8. Contact person (include name, designation, telephone number, email address & address)

Please note that:

  • No CPF is payable. More information is available at the CPF website.

  • International students who have a valid student visa may take up internships without any further paperwork needed by your company.
