Brief BiodataAfter completing his doctorate at Oxford, Professor Simester taught in England at the Universities of Cambridge, Birmingham, and Nottingham, before joining NUS in 2006. In recognition of his research in criminal law and theory, he was elected in 2007 to a Fellowship at Wolfson College, University of Cambridge, where he is also Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Criminology. Professor Simester's main interests lie in the fields of legal philosophy, criminal law, and restitution, and he has published in these areas in every major common law jurisdiction. His books include (with G.R. Sullivan) Criminal Law: Theory and Doctrine; (with W.J. Brookbanks) Principles of Criminal Law; as well as four edited collections.
