Brief Biodata

Stephen Phua teaches Income Tax, Goods and Services Tax, Corporate Taxation, International Tax Law and Business & Finance for Lawyers in the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore. He has delivered and published several articles in international conferences and journals in various aspects of taxation laws. He was a visiting scholar to several leading universities in Canada, US and Australia and taught at Kyushu University and East China University of Politics and Law. He is the editor of Current Developments in Financial Regulation and Capital Markets (2003) and Excise Taxation in Asia (2007). He is a member of the Singapore Goods and Services Tax Board of Review, Valuation Review Board and the Tax Advisory Group in MOF. He also sits on the Steering Committee of INTR, OECD, Paris. In 2007, he was appointed a program advisor to the International Tax and Investment Center in Washington and an examiner of the Chartered Institute of Taxation in London.
