Michael, an Assistant Professor at the NUS Faculty of Law, was recognized for his role in founding and promoting a Singapore-based not-for-profit organisation – aidha, which is dedicated to enriching lives through financial education. The organisation works with women migrant workers to build confidence, financial skills and entrepreneurial capabilities.

Bryan Tan '96 of Keystone Law Corporation was awarded the Best Entrepreneur Award – Faculty of Law. Bryan is a director of Keystone and has led the firm to be ranked as a leading Singapore firm in the fields of IT and Intellectual Property.

The NUS Entrepreneurship Awards has the twin aims of promoting entrepreneurship among the student population of the National University of Singapore and to reward outstanding established and upcoming entrepreneurs from among the NUS 140,000 strong alumni population. It was inaugurated in 2005 as the NUS Centennial Entrepreneurship Awards 2005 and subsequently given biennium status, due to the popularity and support it achieved.
