NUS Law
School welcomes Professor Stephen Girvin
The Law School welcomes Professor Stephen
Girvin who joined us in October 2008. Professor Girvin has held faculty
positions at the University of Birmingham, NUS, the University of Nottingham
and the University of Aberdeen. He has been a Visiting Professor at Cape
Town and NUS and a Ross Parsons Visitor at the University of Sydney.
Professor Girvin is the author of The Carriage of Goods by Sea (Oxford,
2007) and co-author of Charlesworth’s Company Law 17th ed (Sweet & Maxwell,
2005). He is also a contributor to D Rhidian Thomas (ed), Liability Regimes
in Contemporary Maritime Law (Informa, 2007) and of Palmer’s Company Law
Annotated Guide to the Companies Act 2006 (Sweet & Maxwell, 2007). Professor
Girvin is an editor of Palmer’s Company Law (Sweet & Maxwell) and of the
International Maritime and Commercial Law Yearbook (Informa) and a member of
the Editorial Board of the Aegean Review of the Law of the Sea and Maritime
Law (Springer).
