Simon Tay to speak at Harvard University

SIIA Chairman Simon Tay and four other distinguished academics, including Dr. Amartya Sen, will speak at Harvard University on October 15 this year about the financial crisis’ impact on Asia.

The two-hour event, is titled the "Impact of the Financial and Economic Crisis on Asia" and will feature four other speakers, Nobel Prize-winning economist Amartya Sen of Harvard, Dr. Takatoshi Ito of the University of Tokyo, Dr. Kaushik Basu of Cornell, and Dr. Dwight Perkins of Harvard.

Professor Tay's speech will focus on the Southeast Asian and Singaporean perspectives on the crisis.

The program is an "Asia Vision 21" satellite meeting cosponsored by the Harvard Asia Programs and the Harvard Asia Center.

It will be held on Thursday, October 15, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Belfer Case Study Room (Room 020) at 1730 Cambridge Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
