Visitors
can expect a fun-filled and informative outing at NUS’ new Bukit Timah Campus.
The Faculty of Law welcomes you to explore our brand new campus facilities,
with faculty tours led by our undergraduates through the day.
The NUS
Law Open House activities are jointly organised with our Faculty’s very own
student organisation, the Law Club. Members of the Law Club and its sub-clubs
have lined up a variety of activities for your enjoyment. Come and interact
with our staff and students and find out for yourself what it means to study
in Asia’s Global Law School!

In addition to these activities happening at the Bukit Timah
Campus, those of you who visit the main Kent Ridge Campus will also have
a chance to interact with our staff and students at our Open House booth
(look for the yellow one!).

To make things more exciting, Vice-Dean, Academic Affairs,
Associate Professor Victor Ramraj will be presenting on the Faculty
of Law and our programmes at the Kent Ridge Campus. He will be joined by
students who will share their undergraduate experience in the faculty, as
well as alumni who are now in the legal profession.
His presentation schedule is as follows on both days:
11am to 12pm – Hall 6
3pm to 4pm – Hall 6
Programme information
Here are the details of the
programmes happening through these two days of fun-filled events!
Professor-Student Seminar
This is an opportune time to hear the other side of law school from a first
hand perspective that one cannot get from brochures and the prospectus. In
an informal seminar style setting, law professors alongside current students
will be giving useful tips on "Law School – Survival Techniques 101". This
will include issues like how to get into your professors' good books, making
it through the dreaded law school exams alive and looking sober for 9am
lectures on a Thursday morning.
Here's how the schedule looks like:
Saturday Seminar 1
Assoc Prof Alan Tan,
Assoc Prof Eleanor Wong and
Asst Prof Helena Whalen-Bridge
Saturday Seminar 2
Prof Michael Hor and
Asst Prof Helena Whalen-Bridge
Sunday Seminar 1
Assoc Prof Alan Tan,
Assoc Prof Kumaralingam Amirthalingam and
Asst Prof Helena Whalen-Bridge
Mock Trials and Moots Demonstrations
Watch the top minds of Law School pit their speaking skills against each
other in mock court trials in the brand new Bukit Timah Campus Moot Court.
The adversarial system of law in Singapore will be showcased in this
exciting display of wits and mental acuity.
Live Gigs
Law School isn't just about books and libraries; the silence of the
corridors is often broken by blazing guitar riffs and heart-thumping drum
solos. Come down and let Law's musical talents belt out the latest hits and
one or two old classics, just for you.
LSIRC Table Discussion
Erudite. Sagacious. Learned. The pedagogues.
Cosmopolitan. Global. Unifying. The International Students.
What do the chairman of Singapore’s largest opposition
party, a civil society activist-playwright, and a constitutional law
professor have in common? Join our international students and our three
guest speakers namely Ms Sylvia Lim, Mr Alfian Sa'at and
Asst Prof Arun Kumar Thiruvengadam for a two-hour, no-holds barred
discussion on comparative democratic processes.
