Coursework Programmes
Master of Laws (LLM)
This one-year full-time programme is widely attended and popular with
both foreign and local applicants. It is targeted at graduate students
with a good first degree in law, and enhances their expertise by
providing a broader and deeper legal knowledge. Students have a choice
of elective subjects from areas such as commercial law, trade &
investment law, banking & corporate law, technology law, maritime law,
environmental law, and international and comparative law. Students
interested in research may also opt to do a directed research paper in
lieu of one taught course.
The LLM by coursework programme offers a law graduate further training
in new or more advanced areas of the law, familiarises students from
civil law backgrounds with the common law tradition, and gives students
the opportunity to study alongside talented classmates from Asia and
other parts of the world.
