APCEL’s Senior Research Fellow Dr Linda Yanti Sulistiawati (center-standing row) at the Eighth Melbourne Forum on Constitution Building in Asia and the Pacific (Climate Change and Constitutions) hosted by National Taiwan University (NTU), Taipei, 23-24 May followed by the Focus Group Discussion on 25 May 2024.

APCEL’s Senior Research Fellow, Dr Linda Yanti Sulistiawati was invited to participate in the Eighth Melbourne Forum on Constitution Building in Asia and the Pacific (23-24 May 2024), followed by a Roundtable Discussion on 25 May. Jointly organised by International IDEA, the Constitution Transformation Network and National Taiwan University College of Law, the Eighth Melbourne Forum on Constitution Building in Asia and the Pacific focuses on climate change as the defining global challenge of our time, and the constitutional opportunities and challenges it presented. Hosted by The National Taiwan University (NTU), the two-day forum was well attended by representatives from various Asia-Pacific countries to discuss the importance of Constitutional Law in climate change adversities, in different jurisdictions.

In her paper, Dr Sulistiawati discussed the environment courts and tribunals in the Southeast Asia, as well as the constitutional law’s role in climate adversities.
