APCEL is proud to be a supporting partner of the Second ASEAN Environmental Law Conference

April 12, 2022 | In the News

ASEAN is currently facing many significant environmental and social challenges. In 2021 the First ASEAN Environmental Law Conference from 27-29 January with the theme “Stories and Solutions in Challenging Times” brought together over 1000 participants and presenters in a zoom conference format. The First ASEAN Animal Law Colloquium was held in person in Chiang Mai, Thailand in December 2018 with over 40 participants over three days of discussion on a number of animal law themes.

The aim of this Conference is to bring together ASEAN and non-ASEAN experts to share stories, of both success and failure, and to examine potential legal, policy, and community-based actions to transform principles of environmental law into practice. The Conference will also aim to foster networks and collaborative approaches to environmental problem solving.

APCEL Senior Research Fellow, Dr. Linda Yanti Sulistiawati, was invited to be the moderator in the session “Compliance and enforcement of environmental laws”. For the recording of this session, please refer to the link HERE.
