APCEL Policy Paper 23/01: 2023 Updates to the Resource Sustainability Act 2019

APCEL Research Assistant, Selene Tanne, has published a policy paper entitled “2023 Updates to the Resource Sustainability Act 2019 ”.

This paper summarises and explains the 3 key updates that were made in May 2023 to Singapore’s Resource Sustainability Act 2019 regime: (1) new regulations for disposable carrier bag charges; (2) stricter regulation thresholds for electronic products; and (3) updated packaging reporting obligations for producers. It also touches on some of the implications of these changes for resource sustainability in Singapore.
