Podcast: Transnational Environmental law and Innovations in Climate Litigation via Atmospherictales.com

In this podcast, APCEL Director, Dr Jolene Lin, and environmental lawyer, Mayank Aggarwal, discuss the need for laws and regulations to respond to environmental issues and to create a sense of responsibility towards environmental resources at local, regional and international levels. Topics include, the challenges for the aviation and shipping sectors to reduce their carbon footprint and the role of technological innovations towards net zero emissions; the role of development banks and the private sector in financing climate actions; and innovations in climate litigation in the Global South and its intersections with human rights issues.

Dr Jolene Lin is an expert on climate change law and transnational environmental law. She is a law professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and director of the Asia Pacific Centre for Environmental Law. She is also a member of the editorial boards of: Journal of Environmental Law, Chinese Journal of Environmental Law, and Climate Law. Before joining NUS, she was associate professor of law at the University of Hong Kong. She has served as consultant to the Hong Kong Department of Justice, international NGOs, the United Nations Environment Programme, and global law firms. Find her on Twitter.

Mayank Aggarwal is an environmental Journalist and contributing editor at Mongabay-India who writes on environment, conservation, wildlife, water, and renewable energy. He has worked with Mint newspaper, DNA newspaper, Indo-Asian News Service (IANS), and at The Statesman newspaper.
