April 16, 2025 | In the News, Research

APCEL’s Associate Academic Fellow, Ben Chester Cheong, has recently published two articles in leading journals — the Journal of Environmental Law (JEL) and Transnational Environmental Law (TEL). In the JEL, his article advocates for the incorporation of intergenerational equity principles into UK company law, highlighting the need for legal frameworks to address long-term environmental challenges. In the TEL, he explores the complex tension between the ethical imperatives of intergenerational justice and the practical limitations of positivist legal systems. These timely contributions add to the growing discourse on law’s role in shaping sustainable futures.
