Research Workshop in Abu Dhabi University, School of Law
APCEL’s Senior Research Fellow, Dr. Linda Yanti Sulistiawati, was invited to present her research project in the Abu Dhabi University School of Law’s Research Workshop on 15 October 2025. This workshop was the first of its’ kind in the Abu Dhabi University School of Law in order to ignite the culture of research presentation in the school.
Dr. Sulistiawati recently presented her research proposal titled “Integrated Framework of Legal Analysis and Big Data Economic Modelling for Assessing Climate Change in the Asia-Pacific Region” at the Abu Dhabi University School of Law. The proposal introduces a multidisciplinary approach that combines legal frameworks with advanced computational and economic modeling techniques to evaluate the impacts of climate change across ten selected countries in the Asia-Pacific. This integrated methodology aims to bridge the gap between legal analysis and data-driven insights, providing policymakers with robust tools for climate governance and sustainable development.
During the presentation, Dr. Sulistiawati emphasized the importance of leveraging big data to capture complex socio-economic and environmental interactions influenced by climate change. By incorporating legal perspectives into economic modeling, the research seeks to identify regulatory gaps, forecast economic risks, and propose adaptive strategies tailored to regional contexts. The initiative reflects a growing need for evidence-based policymaking in climate law and economics, positioning the Asia-Pacific region as a critical focus for global climate resilience efforts.
