Justin was appointed as a Sheridan Fellow in 2024.
Justin completed his Bachelor of Civil Law in 2024. He graduated with a BA of Jurisprudence (LLB) with First Class Honours from the University of Oxford in 2022, where he was also awarded the Peter Carter Prize for his top performance in Wadham College. He was a Visiting Researcher at the Asia-Pacific Centre for Environmental Law between 2023-2024 where he organised workshops on international climate law and participated in research workshops.
Justin’s primary research interest lies in how private law doctrines and models can address public environmental problems. He has assisted with the orgnaisation of a regional climate litigation workshop at the University of Oxford, and co-wrote the workshop’s report with Professor Ekaterina Aristova. Justin has also written in the areas of property law and environmental regulation. In addition, Justin works on an ongoing experimental jurisprudence study on the directionality between the legitimacy of authorities and obedience of subjects.
Justin’s interest in environmental law carries outside his work. He is the Academic Coordinator of the World’s Youth for Climate Justice’s (WYCJ) Asia Front, and the Co-Coordinator of the WYCJ Singapore Front. He engages states on matters of international environmental law, and works on regional outreach to build regional capacity on environmental law and human rights
