Yang’s research interests encompass climate change law and policy, international environmental law, and general public international law.
Prior to joining APCEL, she gained valuable experience through her internship at the International Law Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Committee, where she contributed to research on international dispute settlement mechanisms and also to an interim report. She has also conducted legal research on cases, such as the land reclamation disputes between Singapore and Malaysia before the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) and climate change advisory opinions at the International Court of Justice (ICJ). Additionally, she interned with the Legal Department of the Monetary Authority (MAS) of Singapore, where she participated in a research program.
Her current research at APCEL explores the harmonization of climate change law and the law of the sea, while also addressing conflicts between international climate action and investment protection in dispute settlement mechanisms.
