Faculty of Law, Pancasila University was established in 28 October 1966 by the Education Foundation of Pancasila University. Pancasila is used as the name of the university is not simply identification and distinction from other universities but has a deep sense of principle, and in accordance with its mission statement of Pancasila University, is "Providing a positive role in the development of science and technology and the development of Pancasila as the grundnorm in the Preamble of the Republic of Indonesia Constitution '1945". In this context and faith, FHUP intends to produce graduates who spirited Pancasila, has values, attitudes, knowledge, intelligences, skills, and abilities to trained, worked, and being an expert in law to support the legal development and enforcement in Indonesia. Faculty of Law, Pancasila University which is known as FHUP is one of the biggest private law school in Indonesia and a very innovative approach in legal education.

There are five majors in FHUP i.e.; the civil law, the business law, the criminal law, the constitutional law and administrative law, and the international law. FHUP has In the academic year 2013-2014 the number of students reached 2224 people. FHUP has had two study programmes which are the Undergraduate and Graduate (Masters) and is currently being developed to the stage of Ph.D. study program (Doctoral). FHUP provides also teaching law in other faculties of the University (Economics, Engineering, Tourism, and Psychology). FHUP has a partnership with Faculty of Law, Prince of Songkla University Thailand, Faculty of Law, University of Malaya Malaysia, and Faculty of Law, TOIN University of Yokohama Japan.
