September 8, 2025 | In the News
Congratulations to our close collaboration partner, Jigme Singye Wangchuck (JSW) School of Law (Bhutan), on becoming the newest member of the Asian Law Institute (ASLI) network! This is a significant moment for JSW Law and for the broader mission of strengthening ties among law schools in Asia. At the Centre for Asian Legal Studies (CALS), we are proud to have been able to play our part in fostering dialogue, research collaborations, and mutual learning from our diverse legal traditions. Our joint annual undergraduate summer school programme concluded its third run this year and will continue to offer law students a chance to learn on JSW Law’s beautiful green campus near Paro, Bhutan next year. In addition, we are expanding our CALS Peer Learning Initiative and partnering JSW Law to hold a series of student‑led workshop on Singapore and Bhutanese Contract Law.Together, these programmes embody our commitment to shared learning and cross-border academic exchange – hallmarks of a stronger, more vibrant legal community across Asia.We look forward to deepening our partnership with JSW Law and to creating more opportunities for students and faculty across Asia to learn, grow, and collaborate.
