[Work-in-Progress (WiP) Seminar series] Democracy and Disengagement: How Courts Can Leverage Democratic Virtue

February 25, 2022 | Impact, Research, School

Dr Bryan (Bo) Dennis Tiojanco, Project Associate Professor, University of Tokyo and CALS Academic Fellow, presented his paper “Democracy and Disengagement: How Courts Can Leverage Democratic Virtue” at the CALS Work-in-Progress (WiP) Seminar series this afternoon. Joined by paper discussants, Dr Gautam Bhatia (University of Oxford), Ms Ana Robalinho (Yale Law School) and Assoc Prof Dr Jaclyn Neo (CALS Director), the seminar was moderated by series coordinator, Ms Winona Kang and featured an insightful discussion on the ideas presented in the paper.

The CALS WiP Seminar series is one of CALS’ key events, dedicated to providing researchers (both in-house and visiting) a conducive platform to obtain feedback on their works-in-progress. Participation is usually limited to the CALS community to keep the mood of the presentation casual and friendly, to encourage brainstorming, freewheeling discussion, and frank constructive criticism.
