About the Event
This webinar discusses the humane treatment of persons with ASD in relation to the UK criminal justice system.
About the Speaker
Clare Allely is a Professor of Forensic Psychology at the University of Salford in England and is an affiliate member of the Gillberg Neuropsychiatry Centre at Gothenburg University, Sweden. Clare is an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Glasgow. She is a Chartered Member of British Psychological Society and Associate Fellow of British Psychological Society. Clare regularly acts as an expert witness in criminal cases involving defendants with autism spectrum disorder. She is also a Consultant for the Irish Prison Service.
She has published over 150 academic peer reviewed articles or book chapters. She is author of book “Autism Spectrum Disorder in the Criminal Justice System: A Guide to Understanding Suspects, Defendants and Offenders with Autism” published by Routledge in 2022, “Autism & Harmful Sexual Behaviour: Working with children and young people”, and in 2026 Harmful Sexual Behaviour and Autism | Jessica Kingsley Publishers – UK.
