Description

This workshop, titled ‘An Introduction to the Basics of Thai Tort Law’ is organised by students from the Faculty of Law, Thammasat University. All Singapore pre-law and law students are invited to attend.

The second and third sessions, held in-person at the National University of Singapore’s Bukit Timah Campus on Saturday, 18 January 2025, will focus on how tortious liability is determined in Thailand, particularly under section 420 of the Civil and Commercial Code. It also seeks to introduce students to how basic concepts like primary liability, vicarious liability and strict liability are applied under Thai law.

For the first time in CATPLI’s history, law students from Thammasat University will be conducting the (a part of the) workshop in-person. After the third session, there will be an informal networking session where participants will have the opportunity to interact with their Thai counterparts. This is a rare opportunity that should not be missed!
