Description

This Roundtable will present the speakers’ perspectives on how freedom of religion and belief is defined and applied in regions like South Asia, Southeast Asia, Middle East and Europe. The discussion will look at how recent conditions – including government regulations to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic and other regional/local developments have impacted the understanding of freedom of religion and belief. In particular, whether social groups, religiously defined or not, have acted and expressed themselves with respect to freedom of religion and belief. We will also discuss the future of such freedoms and its potential evolution.
