March 4, 2026 | In the News, Programmes, Student

Experience law beyond the classroom at the JSW School of Law’s Fourth Undergraduate Summer School, taking place from 8–20 June 2026 in Pangbisa, Paro, Bhutan.

This two-week intensive programme is jointly co-organised by the Jigme Singye Wangchuck School of Law, the Centre for Asian Legal Studies at the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law, and the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru. Bringing together outstanding undergraduates from across jurisdictions, the programme offers the rare opportunity to study in a truly exceptional setting, the highest law school in the world, nestled in the pristine Himalayas.

Students will enrol in two of three cutting-edge courses taught by distinguished faculty from leading Asian law schools:

• International Bank Regulation by Dr Sandra Annette Booysen of the National University of Singapore
• Law in the Age of GenAI by Dr Rahul Hemrajani of the National Law School of India University
• Taxation of Cross-Border Commercial Transactions in a Digitalised World by Justin Tan of the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law

Courses are delivered in seminar format over 23 contact hours each, with assessment through reflections, presentations, participation, and a final take-home examination. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a jointly signed certificate.

Beyond the classroom, students will engage with international and Bhutanese peers, and gain first-hand exposure to Bhutan’s legal system and society through curated field trips to Thimphu and Punakha.

The programme fee includes tuition, accommodation, meals, airport transfers, and organised excursions.

Applications close on 31 March 2026. Selection is competitive and conducted on a rolling basis.
