March 4, 2025

The 4th NUS CALS – SNU APLI Asian Forum for Comparative Legal Studies successfully took place on 28 February 2025, at the Lee Sheridan Conference Room, NUS Faculty of Law, Bukit Timah Campus. Co-hosted by the Centre for Asian Legal Studies (CALS) at NUS Law and Seoul National University’s Asia-Pacific Law Institute (SNU APLI), the forum gathered legal scholars and researchers for a day of thought-provoking discussions on pressing legal issues from a comparative perspective. The forum was co-convened by Associate Professor Christian Hofmann (NUS Law), Assistant Professor Dian AH Shah (NUS Law) and Associate Professor Wu Ying-Chieh (SNU Law).

The forum featured four engaging sessions covering a diverse range of topics, including emergency powers and Covid-19, legal pluralism, judicial appointments, contractual liability, crypto assets, and ESG disclosure. Each session sparked dynamic exchanges, fostering deeper insights into the evolving legal landscapes of Asia and beyond.
