Today’s Virtual Roundtable #21, discussed the fascinating book ‘Abusive Constitutional Borrowing: Legal Globalization and the Subversion of Liberal Democracy’ by Dr Rosalind Dixon and Dr David Landau. Co-author Dr Rosalind Dixon (University of New South Wales) was joined by discussants Dr Wen-Chen Chang (National Taiwan University) and Dr Dian Shah (National University of Singapore), who offered reflections on the book from the perspective of developments in Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Indonesia, with Dr Kevin Tan (National University of Singapore) who facilitated the discussion and added insights from the Singapore experience.
