January 15, 2020 | Impact, Research, School

Visiting Scholar, Dr Janina Boughey, visited CALS from 2nd to 12th January 2020. As part of her ongoing research, Dr Boughey presented her working paper “The Developing ‘Culture of Justification’ in Administrative Law: Rationales and Consequences” at the CALS Researchers Work-in-Progress Seminar Series (CALS WiP series).

Dr Janina Boughey is a Senior Lecturer in the UNSW Faculty of Law, and a member of the Gilbert + Tobin Centre of Public Law. She is also the reviews editor of the Australian Journal of Administrative Law. Her work and research interests focus on the interaction between human rights and judicial review of administrative action, comparative administrative law, statutory interpretation, and the nature and limits of the constitutional powers of the judiciary and legislature to hold the executive to account. CALS is very pleased to have Dr Boughey visit us!

“I am incredibly grateful to NUS, and especially to CALS, for hosting me as an Academic Visitor, and for giving me the opportunity to present my research at a work-in-progress workshop. The workshop provided an invaluable opportunity to receive generous and helpful feedback from the many brilliant scholars in CALS, and to share ideas about important developments in public law. I am so appreciative of the time and intellectual generosity of those who attended the workshop and had engaging discussions with me during my visit.” – Dr Janina Boughey

It was a pleasure to host you Nina!
