[CALS] Virtual Roundtable #20 on ‘Religious Offences in Common Law Asia’

March 17, 2022 | Impact, Research, School

Virtual Roundtable #20 on “Religious Offences in Common Law Asia” earlier today, saw intellectually stimulating dialogue about religious offences in different jurisdictions. The conversation revolved around the interplay between religious freedom and freedom of speech. A country’s moral values, traceable to its history was also brought into discussion. Panelists remarked about the rich, multi-faceted nature, and exceptionally useful in its delineation, multiple understandings of the way religious offences can work. It was an extremely passionate and thought-provoking discussion with scholars’ concluding anticipation for a possible follow-up conference to delve even deeper into the topic.
