October 25, 2021 | Impact, Research, School

The PLRG-CALS Seminar took place via Zoom yesterday, with Professor Xu Ting from the University of Essex speaking on “How China Escaped the Poverty Trap: The Co-evolution of Diversity in Property and Economic Development.” Moderated by CALS Deputy Director Associate Professor Christian Hofmann, the 90-minute session included a compelling discussion centred around the ideas presented in Prof Xu Ting’s paper which examines one of the most important factors contributing to China’s escape from the poverty trap by looking at how diversity in property and economic development co-evolved from the late 1970s to the 1990s.
