Abstract: This chapter looks at how the norms embedded in the 9 major international human rights treaties have been received and incorporated into the local constitutional law of the 10 ASEAN states. Even though almost all the ASEAN states adopt a dualist approach to the reception of international law, many norms under international human rights have been incorporated in the constitutional orders of these states, and this chapter considers the extent to which they protect human rights therein.
