Paul Ng, heads the aviation practice at Rajah & Tann Asia (“R&T”), the largest law firm in South East Asia with offices in 10 countries.  He has more than 30 years of practice experience in the Aviation and Transportation sector across three continents having worked in offices in New York, London, Shanghai and Hong Kong.  Prior to joining R&T, Paul held leadership positions in top tier elite US and UK firms including being the global head of aviation for an international law firm based out of London with over 30 offices worldwide.  Paul has been ranked by all the leading periodicals as tier 1 in Aviation Finance for over a decade and has recently in December of 2024 been conferred the status of “Senior Stateperson” by Chambers Singapore (sole person) and Chambers Asia Pacific region 2025, highest tier for his practice area.

Paul has helmed some of the most significant aircraft related transactions during his career including the then largest commercial aircraft acquisition of all time by PT Lion Mentari worth over US$20 billion of Airbus NEO aircraft. He is considered “Best of the Best” top 30 aviation practitioners in the world by Who’s Who Legal.

Paul is an Academic Fellow at the Centre for Banking & Finance Law at the National University of Singapore and an Honorary Professor of the Law Faculty at Queen Mary University of London.   In 2023, he was invited by University of Cambridge to be a visiting scholar at the Commercial Law Studies Centre.  In 2024, he was appointed to the Advisory Board of QM-UNIDRIOT Institute of Transactional Commercial Law (ITCL) one of the leading centres in the world promoting the research and scholarship of transactional commercial law.   He is also the editor in chief of the Journal of Aviation Finance and Law.
