In Residence
Dr Pranav Putcha is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Centre for Banking & Finance Law (CBFL) at the National University of Singapore. Pranav holds a PhD in law from the European University Institute. His PhD thesis investigated the EU’s legal framework for sustainability reporting in the financial sector using an interdisciplinary, mixed-methods approach.
At CBFL, Pranav’s research focuses on sustainable finance and transition finance across jurisdictions. Transition finance is now in vogue even though its meaning remains unclear. Pranav’s research examines how green taxonomies in Singapore and ASEAN have incorporated transition finance, the EU’s attempts to revise its framework to include transition-related elements, and the conceptual challenges of transition finance.
Pranav is also interested in financial regulation and corporate governance in a broader context, beyond their direct implications for sustainable finance. His central interest is in the interaction between law and market practice, especially in the investment funds and private equity sectors.
