Synopsis

The complexity of modern legal practice requires lawyers to have an understanding of both corporate and litigation practice, and collaboration between corporate and litigation practice groups is commonplace when it comes to high value transactions and disputes.

Join us in this careers talk to find out more about how our Tier 1 corporate and litigation practice groups collaborate to deliver effective solutions and services for our clients. We will also touch on the cross-disciplinary training opportunities afforded to practice trainees, and on the flexibility of moving across practice groups.

About the Speakers

Jason CHUA
Partner, Mergers & Acquisitions Practice and the Special Situations Advisory Practices, WongPartnership LLP

Jason CHUA is a Partner in the Mergers & Acquisitions Practice and the Special Situations Advisory Practice of WongPartnership LLP.

His areas of practice involve mergers and acquisitions, covering both public and private transactions, private equity and restructuring and insolvency transactions. Jason has authored legal publications on private equity and is recognised by the IFLR1000 – The Guide to the World’s Leading Financial LawFirms 2019 for being “commercial and negotiates well”.

Joel CHNG
Partner, Restructuring & Insolvency and Special Situations Advisory Practices, WongPartnership LLP

Joel CHNG is a Partner in the Restructuring & Insolvency and Special Situations Advisory Practice.

His main areas of practice are litigation and arbitration, involving banking and commercial transactions, corporate and shareholder disputes, restructuring and insolvency.

Joel has authored various legal publications in the area of dispute resolution. He is currently a tutor and an advocacy trainer in the preparatory course for the Singapore Bar Examinations run by the Singapore Institute of Legal Education, a tutor in the NUS Law trial advocacy module, and also volunteers with the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme.

A recognised lawyer by asialaw Leading Lawyers, Joel was one of the winners for Lawyer of the Year (Client Service Excellence) for Singapore in asialawAwards 2021.

Kevin HO
Deputy Head – Corporate Governance and Compliance Practice and Partner – Mergers & Acquisitions Practice, WongPartnership LLP

Kevin HO is Deputy Head of the Corporate Governance and Compliance Practice and a Partner in the Mergers & Acquisitions Practice of WongPartnership LLP.

His main areas of practice are corporate governance and compliance, regulatory compliance, and corporate advisory, covering both public and private clients.

Kevin is a facilitator for the Advanced Corporate Practice and Professional Skills modules run by the Singapore Institute of Legal Education in the preparatory course for the Singapore Bar Examinations.

Kevin is a member of the Singapore Institute of Directors and also sits on its Bulletin Committee.
