About the Speakers

Anita Quy
Partner, Kennedys Legal Solutions

Anita is a partner in the Singapore office of Kennedys and heads the Asia Pacific Aviation practice. She advises a wide range of clients in the aviation industry, including insurers, airlines, regulators, airports, general aviation operators, ground handlers and maintenance organisations. She is engaged as Lead Counsel for aviation catastrophic losses in Asia and has considerable dispute resolution expertise in single and cross-border litigation. She also regularly advises on contractual liability, risk management and regulatory matters and speaks at Aviation Conferences around the world.

Karnan Thirupathy
Partner, Kennedys Legal Solutions

Karnan is a Partner with the Kennedys Shipping & International Trade team. Based in Singapore, he has over 20 years of experience handling international arbitration and multi-jurisdiction disputes in the commodities, shipping and transportation sectors. Practicing as an English and Singapore qualified lawyer, his clients include trading houses, energy companies, logistics service providers, vessel owners / charterers, P&I Clubs and marine insurers. He advises clients on a range of trade and shipping related matters including those involving commodity sale contracts, offtake agreements, contracts of affreightment, marine insurance, shipping / commodities related derivatives contracts and shipping and trade related fraud. He also regularly assists clients with trade sanctions compliance and related regulatory issues.

Karnan has an active arbitration practice both as counsel and as arbitrator. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is a member of the SCMA Procedures Committee that assisted in drafting the current SCMA Arbitration Rules.

In 2020, he was appointed by the Singapore Academy of Law as a Senior Accredited Specialist in Maritime and Shipping Law in recognition of his expertise in shipping law. He is also consistently recognized by legal publications, Chambers Global, Legal500, Best Lawyers and Who’s Who Legal for his expertise and experience in this area.

Audrey is a Senior Associate at Kennedys Legal Solutions, and is dual-qualifiedin Singapore and in New York.
Audrey’s experience is in advising on various classes of insurance, and focuses primarily on property, engineering, and professional risks. She acts as coverage counsel for local and overseas-based insurers and re-insurers, and in high-value subrogated recovery actions. Audrey has represented clients in all levels of the Singapore Court system, and in institutional and ad-hoc arbitrations both in Singapore and internationally.
