About the Speakers

Aris Wong
Managing Director, BMS Group

Aris is a Managing Director of BMS Asia and leads the M&A insurance practice. Aris has more than 10 years of legal and insurance experience focused on M&A transactions. Aris advises clients on M&A insurance solutions comprising of Warranties & Indemnities, Tax Liability, and Contingent Liability, with a wealth of experience on Asian deals. Prior to joining BMS, Aris worked for one of the largest global insurance broking firms where she led the Singapore M&A insurance practice. Aris started her career as a practicing solicitor at WongPartnership and was formerly a legal director at an US-headquartered MNC.

Gabriel Gn
Senior Assistant Vice President and Group Head of Business Development, Banyan Tree Group

Gabriel is the Senior Assistant Vice President and Group Head of Business Development of the Banyan Tree Group.

Gabriel has been with the Banyan Tree group for 9 years and was in the steering role of Legal Director prior to his appointment to the business development team to prioritize strategic growth. Gabriel is at the forefront of the group’s strategic global business development efforts, including the group’s establishment of strategic alliances with AccorHotels and Vanke, recent inroads into new markets with flagship projects in Japan, Cambodia, Kenya, Mozambique, the Bahamas, Cuba and many others, and augmenting the group’s multi-branded platform and business models.

Graduating from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Laws Second Class (Upper Division) Honours (LL.B), and the ERASMUS programme from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium, Gabriel practised law in Allen & Gledhill LLP prior to joining the Banyan Tree group.

Shulin is an Executive Search Consultant, with a speciality in the Legal industry. More than 10 years ago, she made a career switch to the world of legal recruitment, after leaving her first job as a lawyer with Allen & Gledhill.

Presently, she’s one of the co-founders of ANSA Search – a specialist Search firm. She devotes most of her time to helping her clients (ranging from Domestic and International Law Firms, MNCs, Corporates, Banks, and Startups) in their talent acquisition strategies and providing advice on how they can best retain their top talent. Notably, she’s helped build out entire teams in many law firms and organizations and continues to provide advisory and consultancy services to clients, after making successful placements.

When Shulin’s not helping her clients, she speaks at universities, schools and volunteers with associations which are dedicated to the development of the next generation of Legal professionals.
