Description

About the Event

In this course, Professor Saidov will explore the recent developments in the law of sale of goods. The focus will be on the developments in 2024 but some related and other notable developments in the first half of 2025 will also be examined. A substantial part of the course will explain and analyse the cases on English sales law decided by the UK courts. The remaining part of the presentation will focus on: the Singapore case law on sale of goods in the stated period, including the cases that involve the application of the UN Convention on Contracts of the International Sale of Goods 1980 (CISG) to which Singapore has acceded; some selected cases on the CISG decided by courts in other jurisdictions. A range of sales law issues will be covered in this talk, including an uncertain contract price, implied terms as to goods and remedies.
