CML participates in ICMA XXIII Singapore

March 24, 2026 | Faculty, Research

CML Director, MPA Professor of Law Stephen Girvin delivered a presentation titled, ‘Implied Indemnities in charterparties: certainty at last?’ on 24 March 2026 at the International Congress of Maritime Arbitrators (ICMA) XXIII Singapore Conference. The paper was part of the plenary session on Electronic Bills and Misdelivery Claims, which was moderated by Noppramart Thammateeradaycho (Partner and Head of International Arbitration, Tilleke & Gibbins) and included leading practitioners both local and overseas, several of whom are NUS alumni and Professor Girvin’s former students.

The Centre for Maritime Law (CML) at the National University of Singapore, Faculty of Law, was a proud supporter of ICMA XXIII, which returned to Singapore after almost 20 years. ICMA is a forum for maritime arbitrators, lawyers, and the shipping industry from around the world to deliberate and exchange views and news of professional interest. The Conference is held once every two years and hosted delegates from around the world.
