Continuity is rarely about standing still; it is about rooting progress in a recognisable identity. Just as NUS Law anchors its modern, interdisciplinary future by returning home to Kent Ridge, this year’s Linklaters Social Impact Competition turns its lens toward a similar vital anchor-the intangible “soul” of our city.<\/p>\n

In that vein, the NUS Centre for Pro Bono and Clinical Legal Education (CPBCLE) hosted the inspiring finale of the Linklaters Social Impact Competition AY2025-26 on 15 May 2026. Pro bono work offers a crucial life lesson-that the value of a lawyer lies in the\u00a0impact<\/u>\u00a0that he or she has upon the lives of clients, beyond charge-out rates.<\/p>\n

That message was highlighted by Professor Andrew Simester, Dean of National University of Singapore Faculty of Law, in his welcome address at the Centre for Pro Bono & Clinical Legal Education’s (CPBCLE’s) 10th Pro Bono Awards Ceremony on 4 February 2026.
