Description
The workshop brings together constitutional law scholars from Singapore to examine how the unique office of the elected presidency has functioned in Singapore over the years, bearing in mind the many changes made to the institution. The workshop will also consider the important recent reform exercise, including the convening of a Constitutional Commission and the subsequent constitutional amendments made to the office of the elected presidency. On the latter theme it will consider the process of reform, the nature of the changes and the impact of those on the nature and function of the office of the elected Presidency and related bodies, such as the Council of Presidential Advisors.
