They help financially disadvantaged students with their tuition fees, thereby giving them the chance to fulfil their potential and improve their financial standing, as well as that of their families.<\/p>\n<p>The following named bursaries have been established at NUS Law:<\/p>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"#!\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tExpand All\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"#!\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tCollapse All\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>Adrian Tan Bursary<\/h5>\n\t\t\t<p>This Bursary was established anonymously in loving memory of the late Adrian Tan &#8217;91 to help financially needy undergraduates. Adrian had an illustrious 31-year legal career and joined TSMP Law Corporation as a partner in 2018, spearheading the firm&#8217;s technology and intellectual property cases. A member of the Council of The Law Society of Singapore from 2013 to 2021, Adrian served as Treasurer in 2016 and Vice President in 2017, before being appointed as its President in 2022. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>Allen &#038; Gledhill Bursary<\/h5>\n\t\t\t<p>An anonymous donor, who is an alumna of NUS Law and former partner of the firm, made a gift to establish a bursary for NUS Law undergraduates.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>Betty Wu Lee Bursary<\/h5>\n\t\t\t<p>An anonymous donor made a generous donation to establish this endowed bursary to assist financially disadvantaged students at NUS Law.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>Chew Gek Khim Bursary<\/h5>\n\t\t\t<p>Ms Chew Gek Khim &#8217;84, an NUS Law alumna and prominent figure in business, made a gift to NUS Law to establish an endowed bursary to help financially disadvantaged law students.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>Class of 1982 Bursary<\/h5>\n\t\t\t<p>The NUS Law Class of 1982 celebrated their 30th anniversary at NUS Law on 1 Dec 2012. To mark the occasion, the class raised funds to establish the Class of 1982 Bursary.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>Class of 1983 Bursary<\/h5>\n\t\t\t<p>The NUS Law Class of 1983 commemorated their 30th anniversary by coming together to establish the Class of 1983 Bursary.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>Class of 1985 Bursary<\/h5>\n\t\t\t<p>The NUS Law Class of 1985 pooled their efforts to raise money for a bursary for needy students at their 20th anniversary reunion on 20 May 2005.\u00a0<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>Class of 1987 Bursary<\/h5>\n\t\t\t<p>The NUS Law Class of 1987 celebrated their 20th anniversary with a reunion dinner on 3 Aug 2007 and raised funds to establish the Class of 1987 Bursary.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>Class of 1989 Bursary<\/h5>\n\t\t\t<p>The Class of 1989 decided to establish a Bursary in celebration of their 30th anniversary in 2019 to help needy students with their tuition fees.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>Class of 1992 Bursary<\/h5>\n\t\t\t<p>To commemorate their 25th anniversary in 2017, the NUS Law Class of 1992 established a bursary to help less privileged law students.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>Class of 1993 Bursary<\/h5>\n\t\t\t<p>The alumni from the Class of 1993 raised funds to establish the Class of 1993 Bursary to mark the 20th\u00a0anniversary of their graduation from NUS Law.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>Class of 2008 Bursary<\/h5>\n\t\t\t<p>The NUS Law Class of 2008 celebrated their 10th anniversary in 2018 and decided to establish a bursary to help financially disadvantaged law students.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>Ella Cheong Bursary<\/h5>\n\t\t\t<p>The bursary is part of a generous gift from Hong Kong lawyer Ms Ella Cheong to support financially needy students in NUS Law.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>EW Barker Bursary<\/h5>\n\t\t\t<p>The EW Barker Bursary was set up in honour of the late Mr Edmund William Barker, Singapore&#8217;s longest serving Minister of Law, to help needy undergraduate students at NUS Law pursue their education.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>Faculty of Law Bursary<\/h5>\n\t\t\t<p>An anonymous donor made a gift to establish a bursary for undergraduates at NUS Law. The gift allows NUS Law to award one bursary to an incoming student or undergraduate annually.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>Helen Yeo Bursary<\/h5>\n\t\t\t<p>Mrs Helen Yeo &#8217;74, an NUS Law alumna and a veteran of the legal industry with 36 years of experience, made a gift to NUS Law for the purpose of establishing a bursary.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>John &#038; Lydia Ewing-Chow Bursary<\/h5>\n\t\t\t<p>Mr &amp; Mrs John &amp; Lydia Ewing-Chow are both alumni from the NUS Faculty of Science. Mr &amp; Mrs Ewing-Chow were both recipients of bursaries during their undergraduate days at NUS, and wish to give back to the University to help needy students who are facing similar difficulties.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>Justice, Mercy, Humility Bursary<\/h5>\n\t\t\t<p>The Justice, Mercy, Humility Bursary was established by NUS Law alumni Yeong Zee Kin &#8217;97 and Audrey Chiang Ju Hua &#8217;95. This Bursary was named after the theme verse of the Varsity Christian Fellowship, which both Donors were active in during their undergraduate days, and they hope to encourage these values in each recipient.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>JWD Ambrose Bursary<\/h5>\n\t\t\t<p>The wife of the late Mr JWD Ambrose, a former High Court Judge in Singapore, wished to honour his memory through a bursary to the Law Faculty for students in need of financial assistance.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>Kwa Geok Choo Bursary<\/h5>\n\t\t\t<p>NUS Law established the Kwa Geok Choo Bursary to assist financially disadvantaged NUS Law students.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>Margaret C. Walker Bursary<\/h5>\n\t\t\t<p>This Bursary was endowed by Justice Philip Jeyaretnam in memory of his late mother, Margaret Cynthia Walker, as a tribute to her life and legacy.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>Mr &#038; Mrs Ang Yian Leng Bursary<\/h5>\n\t\t\t<p>This bursary was established by Mr Patrick Ang &#8217;89 in honour of his late beloved father Mr Ang Yian Leng and his mother Mdm Poh Seok Kheng.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>Nesadevi Sandrasegara Bursary<\/h5>\n\t\t\t<p>The Nesadevi Sandrasegara Bursary was established in 2019 to honour Mdm Nesadevi Sandrasegara, an alumna from NUS Law&#8217;s pioneer class of 1961. Recipients of the Bursary will be encouraged to give back to the community through social service.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>NUS Law Student Bursary<\/h5>\n\t\t\t<p>An anonymous NUS Law alumna made a significant gift to set up the endowed NUS Law Student Bursary to help financially disadvantaged law students.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>Tan Han Boon Bursary<\/h5>\n\t\t\t<p>This Bursary was established by Mr Tan Chong Huat, &#8217;89 and is named in honour of his late father, Mr Tan Han Boon.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>Tommy Koh Bursary<\/h5>\n\t\t\t<p>This bursary was made possible by Mr &amp; Mrs Francis &amp; Madeleine Ng, parents of one of NUS Law&#8217;s alumni.
