Exchange Procedures For Outgoing Students
This page provides important information for outgoing Student Exchange (SEP) and Exchange Plus students, after they have accepted NUS Law's exchange offer. Both SEP and EP students should follow this guide closely to ensure the successful completion of their exchange.

Credit and Course Requirements
While on exchange, it is the student's responsibility to ensure that credit requirements are met and appropriate courses are taken. Students who do not meet the requirements will not be able to transfer sufficient credits upon return. This will have implications on their workload in subsequent semesters and/or on-time graduation from the LLB/JD programme. Please read the sections below for detailed instructions.
Course Selection and Approval
Students going on exchange are required to seek and obtain approval for all courses they intend to read during exchange at PU by submitting course mapping via EduRec. This should be done prior to the start of their exchange semester in order to ensure that students have sufficient number of credits and meet relevant requirements during their exchange. The EduRec user guide for course mapping is available at the NUS Student Portal (under 'Other Functions > Submission of Course Mappings for External Study Program’).
Law students must use Law SEP Codes for mapping of courses on exchange. Download the Law Course Mapping and SEP Codes Guide for instructions and examples. You are advised to follow the procedures outlined closely to ensure successful submission.
You will be notified via EduRec whether your courses are approved or if there are any problems with your course selections. Any revisions after approval has been given (e.g. due to changes in course offerings or add/drop process at PU) should also be resubmitted through EduRec. You can re-use the Law SEP codes accordingly. You need not remove the unwanted courses which were approved earlier.
Note: It is the responsibility of students to ensure that the courses read on exchange are approved and that the total credit requirement set by NUS Law is adhered to. The same should be reflected on the transcript subsequently issued by partner university.

Communication
All correspondence with NUS will be sent from lawsep@nus.edu.sg to the student’s NUS email account. Students should check and clear their NUS mailbox on a regular basis to ensure important notifications from NUS are not missed. Students may wish to update their alternative email address in EduRec.
The Law Student Exchange office will be here to address any student queries. Students may also wish to inform us of their overseas address and phone number while on exchange so that we can reach them in the event of emergencies.
We welcome any sharing/feedback on your exchange abroad whether it relates to course work or life as an exchange student; photographs are also always welcomed.
